Golden Age is a Swedish company with almost 20 years of experience in the high-end audio field. We thought that with the knowledge of our technical crew and our long time experience of business in the field, we could create a brand of affordable mics and outboard for everyone! We wanted to reach out to everyone interested in vintage style audio recording, not just the pro-clique. The rest is history, GAP is growing every day and our mics are being distributed thru out the world.
GOLDEN AGE PROJECT D 1 is a classic dynamic microphone inspired by the 1950's style. Most people might think that this kind of mic is designed for live vocal purposes only, but that is not the case with the D 1. The dynamic diaphragm is very sensitive yet rigid and it sounds terrific on electric instruments, toms & snares, and of course vocals. The D 1 is a workhorse on stage and a spicy all round mic to keep around the studio or in the rehearsal hangout.
GOLDEN AGE PROJECT FC 1 MKII is a high quality large capsule condenser microphone, inspired by classical microphone models. It is is very a versatile microphone with a wide frequency response and a large dynamic range. It will perform great in the studio or in live sound and broadcast applications. The FC 1 has a center-terminated capsule with a sweet top end and can handle loud sounds without harshness or other problems. The output transformer handles bass well and adds that extra fat sound that only transformers can deliver. The retro EQ in the FC 1 MKII is set to deliver maximum sound quality with as many sound sources as possible. The sound character of the FC 1 MKII is similar to vintage microphones and it is well suited to be used with most instruments and voices. It works very well on vocals and choirs, acoustic and electric guitars and other fretted instruments, as a drum overhead or room mic and in any other application where you would use a big capsule condenser mic. GOLDEN AGE PROJECT FC 2 ST is esentially a FC1 MkII with the addition of switches for -10dB PAD and a High-Pass filter. The FC 2 ST is a matched set of two large diaphragm condenser microphones. Modern manufacturing techniques allow vintage designs and high accuracy at the same time. The stereo matching of the FC 2 ST mics are within 1 dB. You can now make perfect stereo recordings without spending a small fortune. Improve your sound on drum overheads, acoustic guitars, choirs, amps, organs, percussion and more. The FC 2 ST is also a very good microphone in a mono recording situation. It features a classic vintage design with center-terminated capsule, retro style EQ and a fat sounding output transformer. The two FC 2 ST microphones comes with spider style metal shock mounts in a practical and sturdy plastic case.

GOLDEN AGE PROJECT TC 1 is one of our top products. It is a warm-sounding, large capsule tube condenser microphone. The TC 1 is a classic tube mic with selectable pad and highpass filter and nine different polar patterns for very little money. The TC 1 is a very versatile microphone with a wide frequency response and a large dynamic range. It will perform great in the studio or in live sound and broadcast applications. Itīs sound character is similair to vintage tube microphones and it will sound superb on most instruments and voices. GOLDEN AGE PROJECT TC 3 is a small multi capsule tube condenser. We would like to call it the ultimate low-cost instrument mic. It features three exchangeable heads with cardioid, hyper-cardioid and omni-directional polar patterns, a special hand selected miniture tube and a high quality output transformer. The sound can be described as warm and natural, yet the different capsules colour the sound in their own ways. Use the omni-directional capsule in a small space with acoustic guitar for a big sound. Or use the hyper-cardioid casule for soft and warm, yet clear hi-hats with perfect detail. The TC 3 is also equipped with high-pass filter and pad switches.
GOLDEN AGE PROJECT R1 ACTIVE MKIII is a very cool mic that combines the best of two worlds; the warmth of a ribbon and the stability of a F.E.T. buffer ampilier. This means that you can use the R1 Active MKIII with long cables and virtually any pre-amp featuring 48V phantom power. A clean and clear sound, yet warm and punchy is what the R1 Active MKIII will deliver in most cases. We love it on drums, as an ambience mic or in pairs for O.H. pickup, but it sounds great on most instruments. The R1 Active MKIII is in fact a very versatile mic even suitable for some sensitve vocal recording! And even more so now when the mk3 version includes switches for low cut and 10dB pad.

GOLDEN AGE PROJECT R 1 TUBE ACTIVE is like a missing link of true old-school vintage recording. Meaning it combines three vintage elements rarely combined: A classic ribbon pick-up. A beefy step-up transformer. And a sparkling tube buffer amplifier. You might think that a ribbon, a transformer and a tube might smooth out the signal to much? Sure the sound is truly warm and fat, but the tube circuitry will amplify the signal in such a way that over-tones and high frequencies doesn't perish. The R 2 MkII is quite different from the R 1 series of mics. It features a ribbon transducer with a shorter and more narrow ribbon. It is darker sounding than the R 1 series since the higher frequencies roll off earlier. The R 2 MkII will do wonders with both clean and distorted electrical guitar, with brass instruments and more. It is delivered with a metal shock mount.
